Send me your best made tortillas and I will judge them and rank them accordingly. I prefer spicy and beef. Score is ranked from 1-10. Thickness of meat, taste, smell and spices added.
I’m kidding, just thought this would be fun and let a laymen make a decision. Heck I’d pay as well for the shipping.
Prize would be cash 20. Bucks.

some of the best come from homemade, unauthorized kitchens. I've eaten thousands that I would not want to know how or what they were made from. But I would love to be a judge on a contest of this nature regardless where they came from. I love tamales!

Tamales don't include tortillas.
15 (almost 16), love to hunt with my aunt and uncle, shop with my mom, and watch college football with my dad. Don't have a lot of girls to talk hunting with at school (haha) so I joined this forum

When the wife taught school the janitors would always bring tamales at Christmas, they were always great.

Gotta remember that most folks on this forum are from North of I-10. I was born on the bank of the San Antonio River (Nix hospital ) and I'm very particular about what constitutes a good tamale. My wife and I disagree on what's a good one. I know some new places pack in the customers but their tamales are worthless.

I've never had a good Tamale. I keep trying them but it's something about the texture

Really good. If one of the Valley boys don't pick them up, we just have them shipped. My family makes them every year, but I missed last year's tamale making weekend to take kids hunting. Sorry fam....

I've never had a good Tamale. I keep trying them but it's something about the texture Consider removing the husk first. I did another crawfish boil for a work team builder the other day, in addition to the bugs/vegetables/sausage etc I boiled 10 lbs of shrimp for anyone who didn't like crawfish. One of the folks that showed up (not sure where he was from) got all big eyed when I poured the shrimp out onto the tables. He grabbed one right away and started eating it, shell and all. I didn't wanna get caught staring or embarrass the guy so I just turned away but kept glancing back to watch him eat these things. After a few shrimp and him watching others eat, I guess he finally figured out you gotta peel em' first.

I tried their "Spicey Chicken" the other day and man, those are my new favorite. Like them better than the pork.

The best tamales are the frozen ones from Kroger. Smoother with a can of chili, beans included.

The Costco green/chicken tamales are pretty legit. The beef ones are decent but super greasy.

I usually judge them by how much masa is around the meat. Most I have eaten recently very little meat in the middle and mostly masa. Pork is my favorite, but on occasion will find a spicy pork tamale.
