My city had free bounce house, popcorn, snow cones, and Moon Pies...a fun time was had by all, I enjoyed time with my kids and grandkids, the eclipse was okay, nothing I'd travel to see.

It was dark, then it wasn't...I noticed but nothing happened. I was hoping something would happen...had a Y2K feeling to it. Overhyped and let down again rofl

Didn't think I cared until it started getting dark and all the solar lights came on. Wife and I went out and watched when it was fully covered, then the neighbors brought some glasses over so we could see the ending. Have to admit, it was pretty cool. Now back to reality1

Some of y'all got better photos than what I saw. Too many clouds! Accidentally got one look with my naked eye through clouds for a few seconds. Hope I didn't do damage lol

15 (almost 16), love to hunt with my aunt and uncle, shop with my mom, and watch college football with my dad. Don't have a lot of girls to talk hunting with at school (haha) so I joined this forum smile

Cleared skys here. Neighbor`s rooster crowed at the beginning. Birds exited the trees at the end. Pretty cool event.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

Pretty incredible. Weather turned out to be perfect with 100% full visibility during totality. Neighborhood park was filled with people including some who came from out of state. Glad I got to experience it and I'm glad the people who came from far away got what they wanted to see.

We were driving back from Waco, going east. The wife was looking at the eclipse through the moon roof. Didn’t look too dark to me at that point. But when I got about a mile from our house, the darkness fell like a blanket. It got really dark. I had to use the headlights to get home. The security lights had come on. I was gonna call the neighbor to see if his rooster crowed, but remembered he ate him last week.

Just for a short time, it was really dark.

Thin layer of clouds here. Was worth the couple of minutes out of my day I gave up to stop and stare at the heavens while the light faded. Some of you lucky dogs got some really cool pictures! I was hopeful the clouds would part here but they did not. Show is over. Noses back to the grindstone.

Absolutely the most incredible celestial event. Clouds all before and then not a cloud around a minute before totality. God's watching. Could see Venus and few other stars. Incredible. They say totality can disperse clouds due to no sun/heat to create them.

Keep thinking what it would have been like back in the 1800s before science advanced like it has. It would have been a scary thing not knowing what was going on.

Forgot to mention that there were no eclipse crowds in Waco. Traffic was very light. Saw lots of cops driving around. In the 40 miles from Waco to our house, there were maybe 15 or 20 cars parked here and there, with folks standing outside.

We had gone to the doctor for checkups, and the doc told us he had been told that Chip and Joanna were charging $2000 a night, with a 3 night minimum at their hotel in Waco.

Ho hum…

Glad y'all got a glimpse. Not much in the way of clouds here, but only 95 percent, so it just got vaguely dim.

That was the coolest thing I’ve ever witnessed, at the full eclipse I looked at it with a pair of 50 power binoculars and the purple extrusions coming from the sun was nothing short of miraculous. I didn’t think much about it but I can see now why people make a huge deal about it now. I’ve seen partial eclipses before but the total was something wildly different.

Did anyone else see the 2 big jets circling very close together directly under the total eclipse?

Someone a mile or so from me thought outside the box and put on a nice 3-4 min fireworks show during full eclipse.

Watched it with a bunch of coworkers from the hospital parking lot. Had 4 min 23 seconds of totality and the clouds moved off for about half or a little more. Saw 2 planets and had an airliner fly by during totality. It was really cool looking and wish I had gotten a pic but missed it.
