Prob needs more weld than that on it

A brother and I do some welding projects together. For about 18 months we knew of two that were coming. Yup, sure enough one got going in June and the next one was in August last year. We have lots of policies, and we came up with one more last August. It's real simple, "WE AINT DOIN IT!"

That pertains to June, July, and August. We will give everyone 9 months out of 12. But not those 3.

Was doing the verticals yesterday afternoon. Ran smooth out of MIG wire.

So, this morning it's a hard stop and go get some MIG wire. And the closest welding supply shop is in Greenville.

It's good. Why spend all time burning rods when a few tacks will hold it just fine. I mean it's not like your life depends on it.

Welded, flipped over in the shop and welded the other side.

Out the shop they go.



I shot in elevation on every weld plate. All the columns were cut specifically for each weld plate, and ground clean.



Got two scissor lifts to go borrow from buddies. And another bud that is working out some time in his schedule to come help me. So, it'll be the two of us, two scissor lifts, and two welding rigs. It should get completely framed in one day.

You gotta get a little creative when you're standing and leveling columns by yourself.



5/32" E-6011, drag weld



5/32" E-7018, drag weld cover, on the four roof columns.



About 5 hours, I got them all up, leveled and completely welded. Not too shabby, by myself. The pipe is a 3/8" wall. So the roof columns weigh 150 pounds each.

That's going to look good! Looking forward to the end result.

Looks like the perfect setup for a BBQ and perhaps a Hunters Rifle Challenge Match.

I made the next to last section of lattice yesterday. Going to be making the last section today, and installing them.

Fabricating and welding on Father's Day is fine with me. I still love doing it.

We got the ceiling installed several weeks ago. I failed to update. Do not fail to stain all of the lumber. Staining it overhead is a shoulder smoker.

Nice with that pitch, be sure to get 6”. I just had my whole house redone the 4” we’re not working, mainly due to the pitch of my back patio roof we put on 3 years ago. Your pitch is a lot more than mine. Your place is looking great.

Man, that looks great, we went with wood for the supports on ours, wish now I would gone with metal, the exposed wood cracks open even if you seal the crap out of it.

I build as much as possible out of steel. And I build it one time. Wood, outdoors, requires so much more maintenance.

My perimeter is 1.63 miles long. I've replaced one mile of fence. I pulled out rotten wood posts, and rebuilt the entire fence with nothing but steel. There won't be the need to tear it out in another hundred years.
