Can someone identify this duck? I’ve been watching four of them for a couple of months now while I’m fishing and can’t find them online. I’m all googled out. They’re smaller than a mudhen, plain dark brown with a cream tail, and a short beak. They dive constantly. Sometimes they surface 50’ or so from where they went down. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2024/03/full-3751-416561-img_2420.jpeg)

Pied billed grebe according to the spouse. Not a duck.

Pied billed grebe according to the spouse. Not a duck. Excellent! Thanks. I should have figured that out. I got these pics of a least grebe on a spring fed creek in Blanco County last year. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2024/03/full-3751-416578-img_1722.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2024/03/full-3751-416579-img_1721.jpeg)

No matter how high a duck flies a hammer still breaks a window.
