Those net worth sites are always misrepresenting individuals net worth’s. Lil’ Wayne did an interview and said he doesent have anywhere even close to the number stated on his net worth.

Unfortunately I did know who Katie Noel was before this thread, she is not sponsored by a major label, has no hits on mainstream radio and tours small local shows. Jelly roll for instance, had a reported net worth of $4mm, is under contract with a major label and sells out venues across the country.

I’m not saying she is broke but those smaller time musicians don’t make all that much. They can do ok but there have been long touring musicians who are successful on a regional to national scale who don’t have a $10mm net worth.

Even well known musicians worth will surprise you…back in 2020 David Crosby was on an online music forum complaining that all the venues were closed and he couldn’t play gigs. Someone asked him why did he need to work, wasn’t he a millionaire? Crosby respond with, “no”.

After he sold his music catalog he stated that he could now pay off his mortgage. I don’t know how the royalties got split up between the other members of the group but Crosby had been playing and recording music for over 50 years at the time of his death

Then I should grab my guitar and start recording awful music. I could use the money from a side hustle.

Katie Noel ran around with Upchurch and pretended to be his girlfriend to get in the spotlight, then she hit him with a “me too” case to get more notoriety. She’s the “me too”, hick hop version of Jussie Smollett, and the fact that anyone pays attention to her is a sign of the times.

There is some stuff out there that isn’t bad. I’m not calling it good music, but The Lacs, Rehab, Struggle Jennings, etc. all have a decent song or two.

Not every artist is gonna be top 10. Even Upchurch has some good songs.

Yep but the best of them just don’t get in the spotlight. Cody Davis is special. The ones that get the most attention are the ones that do the most outrageous crap on social media. That is how Upchurch got famous for sure. I used to follow Upchurch back when I thought he was just some meth head that posted outrageous videos.

It’s obvious you’ve never met a pipeliner.

I know close to nothing about the oil and gas industries but during the gas well boom around 2003 or so, FW got an influx of folks from out of state who were employed by the companies. A whole bunch of them were crack smokers and I was scooping up 5-6 a week for crack. What kind of jobs were those guys doing? To this day I don’t know exactly what their actual jobs were.

Most pipe welders i have met are good and decent people ok? Don’t get your feelings hurt. It’s a good song. There are a lot of shady characters around the oil field.

The money is so good because a drill site generates like literally a billion dollars a day. It’s temp work and intense and grimey. They take who they can get right now sometimes.

There are a whole lot of ex oilfield workers in North Dakota that work at Dollar Tree for minimum wage.

But a pipe welder can always find a good job.

A few ex pipe welders drive on the same account as me, Dollar Tree Dedicated. Lot of former computer geeks too, the money is good.
