Looking for recommendations for a great tailgate/receiver hitch/truck or UTV mounted feeder.

I know what I want. Just not sure on the 'best' option.

>50# capacity
Remote (wired or wireless)
Receiver hitch mount
Won't interfere with tailgate operations or block vision if I opt to mount to my front receiver

Let's hear what you like.
Ready, set...go!

I've been pretty pleased with my GreenGo 100# road feeder. I have it mounted in front receiver on my Kubota RTV1140, it would likely interfere with tailgate mounted on the rear.

They're all about the same. Just get one with the eliminator plate so so don't have to close a gate when you're done corning an area. I have 4 of them.

I have a Texas Hunter 100 lb. Road Feeder with Wireless Remote Control. Had it for the past 2 seasons, works great and love the wireless remote. I have it on the hitch of my F250. It’s on sale right now

Had really good luck with my Texas Hunter's Products tailgate feeder.

Got a cheap receiver hitch extension for my Ranger so that I can open and close the tailgate.

I really like the fact that it is battery operated and wireless. After about 400lbs of feed, I pop the 12v battery out and charge it for a few hours, and back off to the races.

Lamco and All Seasons make great road feeders too but but need to be wired someway, which doesn't work for me as my feeder changes vehicles often.

The ability to be able to drop a tailgate is importnat to me. Hard to suggest anythign other than Lamco. i keep the 50 pound version and tighten it all up so I ain't throwing a ton of corn out - I want the animals to move and not sit in a 2 yard area. Carrying an extra bag of corn really is not tough anyway.

I’ll try and get a picture later but we have a combo road feeder/hitch mounted deer hoist. It’s a road feeder attached with u brackets to the hitch skinning rack. Can open the tailgate with it and the skinning rack still works with it on there. Feeder is this one. https://www.amazon.com/ForEverlast-Tail-Gate-Feeder-Feeders/dp/B008SQWHXQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=2UP0LGBDPS4VA&keywords=road+deer+feeder&qid=1699732588&sprefix=road+deer+feeder%2Caps%2C267&sr=8-1

where did you buy your GreenGo feeder? If they are made as well as their stand and fill corn feeders then they are well made

I picked it up at Hoffpauir Ranch and Supply in north Lampasas. My second one, Hoffpauir was out but I contacted Tim at GreenGo and he shipped another there on his next delivery. I'm sure any of the dealers that sell GreenGo feeders near your area can get you one of the road feeders in relatively short order on their next shipment if they don't have one in stock. Has anyone tried using a tailgate feeder for spreading rye grass seed and fertilizer? If so, how did it work out for you and were you able to adjust the amount of material dropping?

we've used mine and my son's tailgate feeders for spreading oats, wheat, fertilizer and peas on various food plots on either my Kubota RTV or son's CanAm Defender. It works pretty good but we have to regulate the rate of feed with the speed of the vehicle, not adjusting the feeder plate height.

My buddy uses one (Spin Tech) to plant oats - millet in small patches and areas that we don't want to risk taking a tractor. His has an adjustable feed plate that helps limit the amount of feed-seed being slung. Not sure if any other brands do that. I know my Texas Hunter Products does not.

I always had problems with being able to open the tailgate on my pickup or utv with a tailgate feeder until I bought a low profile Lamborghini feeder. I never remove it a still able to lower my tailgate. Also the Alamo feeder is built to last. Had mine 6 years now.
