Cool to get a pic with at least 2 of them in it. 2 is the most bearded hens I have seen at one time while hunting.

I have killed one when back in college, hey meat is meat and she was legal.

'Bearded Hens' for the Rio Grande species is not terribly uncommon. Perhaps 15% of the population. But since it does seem to be a genetic trait...on small properties there might be a much higher occurrence.

I had some property in Austin (circa 60's thru the 80's) right on the headwaters on Bull Creek that had a lot of turkey on it. And LOT'S of bearded hens. Other's may never see one.
