I don't pull heavy very often. If I did MIGHT still own a diesel. The truck runs like a spotted azz ape if you want to. I get around 14 -14.5 on hwy running 65-70. Around town 12. Pulling a ranger or 18 ft boat around 9-10.

Is yours a Tremor or did you upgrade to the 285s? If stock was 275, how much of a change did you notice with the 285s? I'm only at 17k, but I'm already thinking about the next set of tires and torn between OEM size 275 or bumping to the 285s.

I bought the tremor wheels & tires along withe running boards from a guy with a tremor. I can't really tell you on stock size. I changed as soon as I got it home. Had the tires & wheels already. I am just guessing from the trip home from the dealer ,but probably lost a mile to 2 per gallon on bigger tires. Couldn't tell any difference in performance..

For those that have deleted a 6.7 Ford, is the EGR block off necessary? Is just unplugging the harnesses good enough, in case it would need to be returned to stock?

For me gas is a no brainer. I wish they would bring the ecoboost or similar technology to the HD segment. I’ve read RAM is supposedly bringing a turbo gas inline 6 to the 3/4 ton trucks in coming years.

Unless you need the capacity I find it hard to justify. Naturally if you can pay for it drive what you want.

My 99 F250 7.3L diesel is at 320,000 & still gets 21 mpg empty. It has ZERO emissions controls. Would never be without it.

I considered a gasser but then my redneck started to act up - god forbid even looked at a Tundra or two. That non-redneck part of me is now in remission but may act up again in the future but i am sure that with adequate amounts of whiskey, firearms and bacon it can be beaten back into submission.

No replacement for displacement. Not a fan of the small displacement turbo stuff that is currently hip. I just have a hard time believing you will ever get 300k+ out of those engines. Every diesel i have ever owned has gone well over 300K. That includes diesels with and without emissions controls.

I will drive a diesel whether i need it or not. For the next 5 to 7 years it will be needed as i routinely pull 18 to 20k over 40k a year and often times at temps of -30 or colder. After that i will roll coal out of spite as i can afford it and enjoy giving the middle finger to all the green nazis. My youngest son is a big electric fan and i take perverse satisfaction in adding more carbon than he can ever hope to remove.

I agree with you, if I had your use I wouldn’t be looking for a gas or smaller displacement turbo. I find it odd you cut off the part of my post that says the same thing you describe you do. My use is recreational, heavy for me is a 40 hp 4x4 tractor FEL and shredder on a relatively light weight trailer. Somewhere around 8,000 lbs. I’m redneck too, that’s part of the cheap arse in me that won’t allow myself to buy a $100,000 truck I don’t need for folks to look at me. I’m well aware some people actually do need/use one.

Ever looked at the carbon footprint of manufacturing electric vehicles? The only green about it is the green-backs going into the polecaticians' pocket.

Have you ever driven past the Austin Tesla plant? They have enough power lines running to it that would light up half of Dallas, I laugh every time I drive past it because it’s absolutely insane.

I have not seen it. I avoid Austin at all costs. Congestion & Democrats do not a good visit make. If I never see another flag waving homosexual again it will be too soon.
