Today was the first time taking it out. I just pulled up to a location, not really calling just learning how to operate it. Look what came in. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2024/02/full-2960-413968-first_call_with_the_freq..jpg)
Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

That's cool. What sound were you using? Back in the day, I made a portable caller out of a small battery operated tape recorder. We were testing the volume using a cardinal in distress call. We were yelling back and forth about being able to hear it or not and a grey fox comes running up to within 30 feet. We were standing out in the open and it just totally ignored us.

I think there's around 150 various calls for multiple species, the one I was playing was Killer Cotton.

I probably should have told the whole story on this. When I say I really wasn't calling, I literally wasn't. I had pulled up to a location, set the caller out facing me and went back to the Jeep. I'm sitting there with the door open and facing out, learning how to use the controller and going through different call's. This guy came out 20 yards directly behind the caller and didn't slow down. By the time I got the rifle out (Still in the case) he was already at the caller. Where he's at in the picture is right where I shot him. I was using a Ruger American Predator in 223 and hit him with a 50 grain V-Max. Over 50 years of calling and this is the first time I've had a badger come in. I'm thinking Gary needs to offer a cage as an accessory, Badgers want to eat it. I was with him last year when the Javalina's tried to eat it.

Great set up. Next time we will just call from the Jeep, that will save a lot of steps... Adios, Gary

Time is not wasted if you spend it with the ones you love.
