I think you will be hard pressed to find a lion outfitter working the brush country of south Texas. Very hard on dogs and not a lot of trees to bay them.

Lions are actually easy to catch in South Texas as there are not steep bluffs, cliffs, slick rock that doesn't hold scent. The biggest obstacle are the high fences that a lion will cross and kill the race unless the hunters can get access on the adjacent ranch. Trees are plenty big enough to hold a lion that wants to get away from the dogs as it doesn't take much. Wind is rarely a problem and moisture coming off the gulf generally improves trailing conditions. I have several buddies that catch a few lions down there but most are not outfitters, just good houndsmen. Adios, Gary
