Daughter thinks she lost another hive - treated for mites Fri. She enjoys it but is getting annoyed by the loss. Her gardens are empty now so bee just find what they can. Think she put sugar on top to try to keep them fed. Saw several on the porch long way away so guess they ar brousing for food.

Curious how many hives she has and what she used for mite treatments? Had about a month late summer I fed dry pollen sub and syrup to get them thru the dearth, helped calm some robbing as well.

.

We can help you with your Mite problem. Have you tried OA? (oxalic acid). We have a Pro-Vap that we use on mites. Winter is a good time to treat when the hives are broodless and clustered. We can also provide OA extended release strips that are very effective. OA Drip is another method for treatment. OA does not effect the honey or the wax comb as do the "pesticide" type treatments.

*Do you use internal feeders? We fed syrup, 2:1 up until Thanksgiving.

For winterizing hives we placed dry sugar on top of the inner cover. Then we place a sheet of the "silver" insulation that comes in rolls inside the telescoping cover.

*We maintain 140+ hives on 12 different properties.
