I can sometimes tell when someone is hunting a lease in my area. The constant barking from a dog that's evidently tied up while its owner is in the woods is a clear giveaway. Just on open comment not directed at anyone here but it points to why some might be told to leave their dog at home while others may not. And like kids, some dogs can be far more disciplined than others.

I don’t like guests bringing guests and that would include a dog.

Our landowner is very strict about guests and family members. We currently have one quest pass purchased by one lease member. Landowner was pretty good at one time about other lease members using it. That is until one former lease member thought he could use it whenever. This former lease member was not well liked by the landowners. Since my brother kicked him off the lease several years ago the landowners have loosened up a bit. One thing I don't like about our lease is a few years back the landowner decided to cut sons and daughters off when they turn 26. Wifes are OK. Out of 8 lease members we only have 2 that come regularly and only 1 hunts. Facilities are not a problem because we all have trailers. At one time we had 2 quest spots but landowner cut it back to 1. At one time I was on a small lease and the lease members set the rules. The landowner set no restrictions at all except for leaving a note in his mailbox when we were there. There was also no written lease agreement. It worked because there were only 3 on the lease and we all worked together.

One thing I don't like about our lease is a few years back the landowner decided to cut sons and daughters off when they turn 26. Do you mean sons and daughters could hunt for free under their parent's paid membership until they turned 26? That's extremely generous in my opinion if so.

Bebe the Wonder Dog has her own ranch now. Plenty of room to roam. And she doesn't bark when I leave her to go hunt...unless she sees Jack the rabbit (actually, Jack's a hare). ![[Linked Image]](https://media.giphy.com/media/zw2PGlENHi2JuMnCJF/giphy.gif)

[quote=Kevin Heath] . I always say that I hope brothers that easily work things out and/or are close appreciate and cherish how rare a thing it is. ![up up](/forum/images/graemlins/default/cup.gif) Well, Brothers-in-Law. we lost Dad almost 2 years ago, and that fact really changed how my brother and I interacted with each other.

Sounds like the only issue you are having in the OP is sleeping quarters. Are there any areas to put a travel trailer for additional sleeping/bunking? You are correct that our issue is not with the guest but the sleeping quarters. A travel trailer would be a good idea.
