Was setting up to be a very unsuccessful hunt… and bitterly cold. Last time I cleaned a merganser (42 years ago), I said never again  Nice hunt though!

Yeah....I need a good drake for the wall, wouldn't shoot one otherwise. Taste like the trash can at the fish cleaning station.

I can smell this picture....they make cool mounts though Last time I cleaned a merganser (42 years ago), I said never again Nice hunt though! Duly noted, they’re froze solid in the bed of the pickup right now so I wouldn’t know  Gonna mount the biggest one and brine the chit out of the other ones

I've always said you can make sausage out of anything. Mergansers take that statement to the limit.
