I have that same rifle and have had the best luck with 130 grain federal fusion as far as good groups are concerned. I have also had success with the trophy bonded tip by Federal but am not sure they make those anymore.

Exactly.....no need for the old trophy bonded tip (now the Terminal Ascent) for whitetail, axis and pigs. I use Norma 140 gr Tipstrike in my Tikka 270. Many other quality options for medium size game.

As far as ranges I shoot 100 to 400 yards. You’ll like how the SST’s perform on game. A lot of really big hogs and larger than average bucks have died on their feet from my use of this bullet.

The Hornady 140 grain BTSP American Whitetail shoots best in my Tikka 270, shooting 130 grain Fusions right now though which are a close second. I've only shot the 130 grain SST in the Superformance and accuracy was worst of the loads I tested, still minute of deer of course. Federal 130 grain Powershoks weren't too shobby in third, Norma 130 grain SPs disappointing in fourth.

My wife has shot a red deer doe and a couple pigs with her T3 270 Hunter using plain ole Hornady Whitetail 130gr Interlock. Shoots/Groups well enough, very affordable, easy to find and all 3 animals dropped right where they were. Note, the red deer was a neck shot. All that said, in the distant future when she gets a decent brass collection going, I'd like to load her some custom rounds. But for now I have like 80+ rounds of this Hornady Whitetail that she rarely shoots.
Good luck.
I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

I like the Hornady ELDX in 145 grain. Groups as good or better than either the 130 or 140 SST at least in my 2 rifles.

I shoot a Tikka T3 in 270. So far, I've shot 3 different rounds and all have been sub moa. Rem core lokt, Hornady interlock, and Nosler Trophy Grade Partition , all in 130 gr. The NP is an absolute jackhammer, as nothing has taken a step (shoulder shots). At +$4 per round however, I only use those on whitetail. I've had no issues with the other 2 on hogs and coyotes though as they are under half the cost. I've just never been a fan of cup and core bullets in the 3000 fps range when shots can be under 100 yards and a trophy animal could be involved.
