Now ERCOT is saying that Tuesday and Wednesday mornings may be close due to less wind! When it’s the hottest and coldest temps, the wind doesn’t blow. Green energy is wimpy.

All I fear is broken PVC pipes. I already have replacement piping, joints, glue, and valves on hand, but I just don’t want to have to do the work.

Turn on pool heater.....
You really are clueless! I don't have a pool, I only have a pool in the subdivision. If I had a pool I would have a back up generator on natural gas, and have my pool heated Why you don't have a generator at your house? A good one only runs around $5K for like Generac 24W, I help my neighbor install his a few months ago. Generator should solve any pool issues with freezing.

In another weather-related flash. It's going to be NEGATIVE 18* in Kansas City for the chiefs game Saturday night. Of course, no one will see it cuz it's on Peacock!!! Stupidest thing I've seen in a while. Just read where the NFL might move the Bills/Steelers game to Cleveland because of the weather...this aint the NFL of old! Not by a long shot.

Last night Mahomes cracked his helmet and when they gave him his backup...he couldn't put it on because it was frozen solid. That's cold!

According to my energy monitor, we had 22 power outages this morning, starting at 6:40 and happening every 8 minutes (+/- 15 seconds) for three hours. Each 5 seconds long...just enough for my generator to crank, but not long enough to transfer load. Same thing happened last year during a cold snap.
We are on a LONG rural line that gets overloaded. The substation breaker finally operates, then recloses after 5 seconds. That momentary power disruption kicks every HVAC system off and starts a 5 - 7 minute delay timer, designed to prevent damage from short cycling. After 5 minutes, heaters start kicking back on. The circuit gets overloaded again, but now its worse than the first overload, because all those units now want auxiliary resistance heat because they are further below setpoint.
I finally flipped the service disconnect and just let the generator run for the last couple of hours of that.
I seems stable since about noon.
