Hello from Utah:
New Member!
My friend, from N. Texas, and I finally drew the Nilgai (exotic) license for the Teniente end of this month.
Any tips, insights, or other light and knowledge perhaps. I have been studying their habits, dung piles etc... but was hoping for some tips on how to hunt the Teniente.
Thank you!

remember its public land, vitals are further forward then an elk.
Snakes are out in Jan in STX. Be aware /on look out for dung piles, they are a product of heavy use.
Bottom line, never trust a man whose uncle was eaten by cannibals.-Sen Joni Ernst

Glad to hear you confirm that I'd read that in a few places but wasn't sure.

Get a tripod and wait wait wait. You will be much more effective than trying to stalk, be ready for temp changes and they are big animals so packing them out can be fun.

it will probably be tight quarters. find some intersecting trails, sit back in a good spot and wait. I hunted LANWFR and sprayed down good with perithren days before hand to let it dry on my clothes. Never had a tick problem. Good luck down there.
Hunt WITH your kids... NOT for them

Not the Teniente, but just east on Laguna Atascosa WMA. Couple of years ago right before Thanksgiving. Snake boots recommended.
