NRA Leader Wayne LaPierre to Step Down

Friday, 05 January 2024 02:14 PM EST

Wayne LaPierre, the longtime leader of the National Rifle Association, announced his resignation from the gun lobby on Friday, the NRA said in a statement.

"With pride in all that we have accomplished, I am announcing my resignation from the NRA," LaPierre said in the statement. "I’ve been a card-carrying member of this organization for most of my adult life, and I will never stop supporting the NRA and its fight to defend Second Amendment freedom. My passion for our cause burns as deeply as ever."

I stopped paying dues to the NRA due to WLP. May be time to renew my membership.

I would not assume this snake has only one head.

"Group think" is not thinking. It is the lack of independent thought. It is a cancer of the mind.

I’m a life member regardless of who is running it.

Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, b/c they know not victory nor defeat"- #26 TR

Well...looks like not everything in 2024 is going to turn to [censored]. Don't let the door hit ya on the way out WLP...

Exactly, just because dipchit resigned doesn't mean NRA's corruption resigned.

Here too.

My money goes to FPC and GOA for now because they actually get things done. I may rejoin the NRA if they can indeed pull it together.
