My Son-in-law has been managing a small farm outside of Athens for many years. Over that time, this buck has been a regular on the cameras, both pre-season, and, luckily, post-season. Because of his unique forks on both G-2's, we can identify pics of this deer for each of the 21-22-23 seasons, and know that he is mature. This year, as in years past, he was the celebrity on camera during the summer and early fall, only to become ghost around mid-October. Now, he has re-emerged. Which is awesome, because in a county where there are numerous small acreage farms, the likelihood that a neighbor might harvest is high. But here he is again. Sporting the fruits on my SIL's protein and most importantly, living another year to be celebrity. Here's my question to all the experts...How Old is He?

Easy 6.5. Our experience has been that they slowly decline after this, especially if there is a harsh summer. If you are feeding year around that will help.

6 would be my guess, good old deer. I’m sure your SIL doesn’t mind him breeding, depending on the goals for the ranch.

Looks good and healthy for January. I'd say he is 6.5 or more but no less than 5.5. He must call the SIL place home and go looking for doe when he gets into breeding time, then back home.
