I have access to hunt 20 acres with 5 acres of woods and a small pond, but it has cows on. I had a nice buck show up on camera and then a cow knocked the camera to the side? I cant put a feeder out there but I can bait. How should I go about hunting him?

find his best trail, spread a bag of corn there. place a makeshift ground blind 100 or so yards away. get a tripod rest. sit still and wait. i could take a few days but he will find it. you may have to deal with cows.

Find a small opening inside the thick stuff and dump a cpl of bags. Cows dont like to hang inside the thick stuff for long. Hang a cell camera and wait till the deer find it and hunt it when the wind is right. Pretty easy to blow deer out hunting the wrong wind or too much activity this late in the season. no, a cow knocked over the camera on the dec 19 so i cant see that spot any more.

Scatter some corn out around the tank at tree line and hunt there...

Cows have big mouths and cannot easily pick up corn. If you put corn out, scatter it, don’t pile it. That also makes it take longer for the deer to eat it, so he sticks around longer.

This is a picture of the land I can hunt. Yellow is deer trail, red is cow trail. Should I plan to corn the deer trail meets the pond, or move to a different spot? Also I want to get him with my bow and my max distance im comfortable shooting an animal is 30yds.

Well, bow huh, how close is this place from your house. Go night and day if it’s 2 blocks away and do what Quit suggested. Take your hand and scatter a bag all over the trees, grass or whatever. The most important thing is blind placement. That’s up to you. Hunt and hunt some more. Then in the end….try to determine why that guy is running cows on 20 acres!!!

It’s 45 minutes away from my place. Would it be a bad idea to put out a mineral block? The landowner who lets me hunt, lets one of their neighbors have their cows on the 20 acres. The cows are on about 100 total acres

Cows will find the block.

Corn and locate the blind for your primary wind, and only hunt when it’s right. If your primary wind is S or SE, I would put the blind (popup?) as far toward the cow trail as possible (edge of range) and corn the deer trail.
