I put a camera up in a new place a few weeks ago, and this guy showed up one morning. (Pay no attention to the date and time. I didn't have it set correctly.) I went up once about five days after this and didn't see him either in person or on camera, but I'm going to scout this out thoroughly for next year. Very interesting rack.

Remember, the bucks have a route they follow in their home territory. My trophy buck, this year, had a pattern of appearing every three days like clockwork. When I missed him on the first hunt I knew he would be back in two days, so I was waiting on him. He got whacked due to his predictability.

Well, I've given him some time to show himself again, but he has not done so. That camera is on a trail that leads toward a pond on the property. Today I put a camera up over the pond. We'll see. Unfortunately, the spot where I got the pics is really only huntable with a south breeze. That happens, but didn't happen today. I'm done for this year.

I've never had a buck that was that predictable.

He was 6.5 years old. So, I reckon he was taking the path of the least amount of resistance.

Got a picture of a buck a few weeks ago with a double G3 on one side. Camera has been out at the feeder year round and feeder location has been up for longer than the deer has been alive, only gotten pictures of him once. Several years ago we had a buck that showed up every year for a day or two around December 25th. Never saw him any other time season or off season and only at that one stand. Cameras are really cool in what they catch, but I’ve also sat and watched a buck stand in front of a camera and go to pull the chip only to find it took pictures befor and after but not him, they miss a lot too.

Me neither. Maybe every day but not every three days.
