Man, my neighbor is gonna kill me when I give his grandkids these whistles. The little ones are already out of control usually. Normally I’d give each kid two whistles and tell them to hide one, to use when the adults throw away the first ones. Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas! These are not quiet whistles. I blew one and the cat ran for his life.

Good man. I also make whistles and have given them to lots of friends kids. You can see the look in the parents eyes when you pass them out. One family had 6 kids, I'll bet that was a fun ride home.

When I delivered the whistles to the neighbor yesterday, the kids had not shown up yet. He’ll hand them out when the kids get into their respective family vehicles to go home. But, there was one little guy, about 10 or so, that was visiting, and I didn’t have a whistle for him. I could tell he wanted one, and I like the little guy, so I had him and his dad follow me back to the workshop. I keep whistle making basics on hand, so I turned one quickly, let him choose paint colors, and we tuned it to produce an outstandingly loud whistle. His dad was happy. I suspect his mom might not be as thrilled.
I have done my part to make this a loud Christmas. Was it Superman that said “my job here is done”?
One more wooden coaster to turn, two signs to make, and one more baby rattle (for a sister that’s mad at me).

I’ll make a few more soon. You can’t buy them though. I only charge for big projects, and even that’s rare and only if the wood is going to be expensive. Let me finish up the remaining tasks first.

Next week I’ll be back in the whistle making biz. Three for Espy. Those things are sooo shrill. The ones I made for the neighbor were given to his grandkids at the home of the kids’ parents (we don’t like the parents, just to be clear). He said that as he left their house you could hear the whistles half a block away. It warms my cold rock-hard heart.
Got to wonder who Espy is gonna torture…
