Which would you choose? Have been to ACWMA in DCNF and other areas, but have not checked out Angelina. Which one sees more hunter pressure? Which one has better numbers? I see decent numbers at DCNF, and decent hunting pressure, even outside of the WMA. I figured Angelina would be a little more remote and see less pressure. Plus, there are roads everywhere through DC so it’s hard to go far 1+ mile in most places. It looks like Angelina has less roads and is a little easier to separate from the pack.

I’d drive further to hunt Whitney. There’s not so many black panthers there.

I haven’t been tracking the Angelina but have seen photos of some very impressive bucks taken from the DC posted on FB. Of course, the bad news is that because of social media posts and the high cost of private leases, what lives on the DC is no longer a secret. I intend to check out an out of the way area of the DC where I used to hunt just to look for increased signs of hunter activity. Back in the 80’s and early 90’s before social media landed and private leases were far more affordable, it was easy to find areas within the DC that never saw a single hunter. Now it’s a battle to find an area that only sees a few hunters.
