I never have understood the enthusiasm of getting an 18 year old kid to flip schools. If he does it 1 time, he may do it 12 more times before settling on a place to go to for 6 months where he enters the portal. Depending on the word of an 18 year old snotty nosed kid would be a sorry way to make a living and this entire flipping and portal deal has done nothing but elevate their status.

I guess because you get better players and if they are as good as you think, they will play and stay. If they're not as good as advertised, they won't play and will leave. With a very few exceptions, i've not noticed where players that flip move on more than the players that stick with their original commitment

Trey Moore is interesting. An aspect I like about portal, not really recruited. Went to UTSA and played very well in AAC. Now going to a big program.

I’ve seen a lot of these guys not really work out. But Texas has a guy more proven than a high school recruit. Could be really good, or just contribute to depth.

I go back to recruiting sites and compare 5 star recruits to where they were drafted. It’s less than 50 percent.



Texas had their recruiting out of balance. They were just getting good players. Not building groups. Just getting ornaments. Now with the portal. There is really no excuse to be good in a couple years.

For years Texas recruited well, but focused on skill players while both lines were not very good. Sark has changed that. He constantly talks about getting Big Humans.

The top skill players can't do much if you're getting beat at the LOS.

Just bought 4 tickets for the Sugar Bowl. My 4 in one of the Longhorn Foundation sections. My son at UT and his GF ended up getting tickets through her Washington cousin, so they're on the wrong side. But there will be orange throughout.

They say ticket price are “plummeting” to sugar bowl.

In lacrosse, lol? Wonder if he'll ultimately portal out as Mike Gundy's son, Gunnar has now done after 3 years of sparingly playing QB at OSU. At least Gundy had the smarts to play him very minimally at OSU. Looks like most of his current listed landing spots are FCS level programs. Probably will be a little easier for Sark to eventually get his son some slop up duty at LB but maybe not. Of all the coaches and ex coaches sons recently playing out there, little Drake Stopps, WR at OU may have been one of the better ones. Hate the game not the players, right...

I know most don't give a flip about women's basketball but this weekend on Fox #10 Baylor beat #5 Texas 85-79. Baylor has won 14 games in a row in Austin. Sic'em
