Ese, they sit at 7 behind Oregon and Ohio State with the top 4 undefeated. Please explain how Ohio State may not get in ahead of them, only having lost to Michigan by 7? If Michigan spanks Iowa, that gives more credence to Ohio State than UT beating Oklahoma State, should that happen.

Pretty sure UT needs FSU losing and Michigan getting spanked by Iowa, actually to assure getting in, assuming convincing win over Oklahoma State

Texas needs to handle osu, and win the conference. One loss conference championships, plus strength of schedule, quality win.

With Sark knowing that Manning would not play very much this year, I think the focus of recruiting on these big time QBs should be on the second time around. With the portal seemingly open every other day, UT should have made a run at Arch like they did, but be satisfied to be second or third, especially if he ended up going to a school with an established QB. The only schools that need to recruit 5 star QBs are schools that need a QB now. Arch will end up leaving UT never having been a factor. UT, Sark, and the 2025 team would have been better served by recruiting him after he entered the portal rather than getting him his freshman year and having him load up and leave in all probability before next year even cranks up. UT got all the kudos for signing him and then having to watch him ride off into the sunset will be painful, if he is as good as they think.

Just need Florida st to lose, and they should be in I agree with this - assuming they take care of business on Sat.. Wash or Oregon will be out with a loss on Friday - and no way do they take 2 teams from the Pac.. Ohio State will lose points by not being a Conference Champion. I don't see Bama beating Georgia, but if they do it will be a mess. JR

There is plenty of time for meltdowns next week. Committee obviously favors PAC. PAC is no stronger than Big12. Lot of pac hype this year. Oregon was very close to losing to TT. Came down to last 30 seconds. Texas beat TT by 50.
Oregon has no ranked wins. Maybe Oregon state.
Conspiracy theory Committee wants a pac team in, no matter what. The Conference, not team gets a large bonus for a team making final 4. Pac is on financial life support.

Right now. Alabama is projected to play loser of Oregon /Washington in Fiesta Bowl. I would much rather watch that than them play Louiseville.

If Michigan spanks Iowa, that gives more credence to Ohio State than UT beating Oklahoma State, should that happen. to me it's simple, Ohio State will be 11-1 and if Texas wins big 12, they will be 12-1 ... WA/OR, I suspect WA will win which will put OR at 11-2 ... moves TX ahead of OSU and OR ... need FSU to loose and GA to win. about the only way I see UT getting into top 4, but I suspect ending up at 5 ... but need to take care of business this weekend

Committee getting Bo Nix season mixed up with a playoff spot. That’s a Heisman stat, not a team stat.

As far as Heisman
Jayden Daniels has more TDs over 20 yards, than Nix has completions over 20 yards. Tells me, he getting tons of short passes. Bolstering that comp %

Agree, Bo nix is a system qb as obvious from his improvement going to a pass happy oregon team. passes that all intents and purposes are runs. Anyway, can you imagine the uproar if the HT went to Daniels? He has lost every one of his big games. I know it is a team effort, but come on, when is the last time a player won the HT with 3 losses, and several FCS teams on the roster to pad stats? It would be an abomination No seriously, daniels is probably going to win it, just because who else will?

The Heisman is a joke nowadays. It's a QB award and that's what they should call it. We all know the best player in the country every year cannot possibly be a QB exclusively. Also, there is a code of conduct requirement that goes along with the criteria for winning or being considered. That has proven to be a farse with Manziel and Caleb Williams both winning in spite of both being a low life POS.

Don't think they want TX leaving the Big 12 with a chance to win a NT.

DeVonta Smith, Mark Ingram, Derrick Henry are the only non-QBs in the last 10 years.
