Dang Gary, I would have loved to see this next year on Carnivore. Hope you make more videos of different animals. I would love to air a show on rattling whitetails but they are not Carnivores so I guess that I will stay in my lane. I have done a couple of of TV shows in years past, Mossy Oak's Hunting the Country comes to mind. OUTDOOR LIFE wrote an article about me rattling whitetails several years ago. Rattling tip of the day. When rattling I am sitting on the ground as that's were fighting bucks would be. I will dig my heels into the ground and push, mimicking the sound of two bucks pushing each other around. I will take the root of the rattling horn and strike the ground as a buck would stamp his feet. Adios, Gary

Rattling tip of the day is on how to preserve your rattling horns. I am using a set of rattling horns that I cut off a buck that I killed in 1986. They are not big or extremely heavy but they do produce good volume. In order to keep them from drying out, I collect the fat, especially inside the body cavity and heat it up in a frying pan. Then I pour off the grease just as you would bacon grease and save it in a jar. (Keep in the freezer or at least refrigerate). About every other year, on a warm sunny day, I rub the antlers down with some of the grease and then leave them in the sun or warm place. This warmth will help the grease to be absorbed into the antlers. This will not only help to preserve the antlers, it will keep them smelling like deer antlers. Adios, Gary
