Anyone have one? I canceled my 1/2 ton and ordered a 3/4 ton.
Gonna try something new with a GMC instead of a Ford, the new F-250 is just ugly.

I drove ultimate the other day. GMC upped their game. It drove well
only thing they messed up on the new AT4x was no front locker.. cool you added a back locker that ford already has on almost all their trucks

I do and love it. Can’t compare to another diesel since this is my first but going from the 2500 hd gas to this is lights out different. The 10 speed is amazing when towing.

According to the GM, the AT4X is a big step up in ride quality over the AT4, as well as the rear locker ( which as you pointed out, Ford has had for over 10 years now…) It’s got more features that I’ll never use ( like speakers in the tailgate) but I’m hopeful it will satisfy my off road requirements with a comfortable ride. My tremor has a front limited slip and I’ll say it’s nice, it definitely makes a difference off road vs. an open front diff.

I can tell you the AT4X multimatic shocks are a big step up from factory on the half ton. Good friend has that one, and its what got me open to eating crow and buying a GM product for myself. So I would think 3/4 is similar only dislike I had on the 1500 was the weird [censored] electric shifter

I really like the AT4X, and really like the infotainment package, but I just can’t get over that stupid tailgate design. As rough as I am on trucks, that won’t last 2 years and I like to keep my trucks for 10.

I’ll admit, nothing says concrete cowboy like a speaker set in your tailgate. My spring break days are long behind me.

Well at least you will be listening to music sitting on the tailgate while waiting on the tow truck. I am 100% kidding. All trucks now days are mostly solid and great trucks. Enjoy the new ride, post some pics, especially the interior. I like them both. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2023/10/full-636-403756-img_0050.jpeg)

I have a 2014 Duramax and won't get another diesel. The DEF system is a PITA. Once they are out of warranty they will hit your wallet hard. Have spent close to $5,000 in the last two years and it's speed limited to 55 MPH and about to go into 4 MPH limp home mode. Looking at another $1K-$3K again to get it back on the road. It will be going up for sale the moment the error codes can be cleared.

Oh good. A duplicate topic about diesels and trucks. One gets started on average every 16 days. I would never buy a diesel anything but it's because I hate working on them. The main difference in the F*** and GMC interior pics above is the GHEY F*** seat covers. My employer sells all four. Yes, there's something that used to be called D**** and is now referred to as R**. I won't judge. I make a healthy living fixing two of the Big Four.
Pass the gravy.

I work on caterpillar equipment, 50-60 percent of the work I do now is aftertreatment faults or emissions faults. Nobody can keep them right. I own a 2006 duramax but I would never buy a newer diesel engine in a pickup truck of any kind. Newer engines are going away from egr coolers but def and emissions are around for the long haul.

I drive so many miles I have to factor in resale value. Diesels hold their value so much better than a Gas truck. That’s why I drive them. Honestly i would be in a half ton but there are other factors to consider rather a singular cause.

2024 AT4 HD here. Had it a few months now with over 12,500 miles and absolutely love it. Previous truck was a 2004 1500 Sierra 1500 with over 360,000 miles. Only thing now days is just praying it doesn't have any emissions issues which is what can plague these trucks.

The power and efficiency is amazing. The complication and emission systems suck. Modern diesels are in my mind for people who don’t want to own one outside of warranty. Having to replace the intake on mine… just joking but I feel like to take the intake out you have to remove the passenger side rear tire lol these things are not made to work on.

I have a 2016 and just turned 322K miles. Last week towed 17K over 500 miles no issues. Running bone stock since i bought it new off the lot. Have not touched the engine, transmission or injectors. Just regular fluids and filters. Had to replace the DPF filters once. Also replaced the Bosch fuel pump at 170K proactively as it is a known issue and if it grenades it will take the injectors with it. Replacing the fuel pump again in January - proactively.

The 2020+ Duramax does not yet show the common emissions failures the previous generation had ... which were better than the generation before that.
The only common AND expensive issue on the L5P is faulty electrical connection at a fuel injector, usually #4.
Pass the gravy.

I have the chevy 2500hd its a 22 model and I am about 25,000 miles had it just over a year. Unloaded and driven right you can see close to 20mpg. Hooked up and towing my 5th wheel which is 13,000 ponds it will hold about 10 with the cruise control set on 75. Its a wicked powerful truck for sure.
