Couple of my regular hunters had a very productive weekend on my lease ranch. This is not my ranch but a place I have leased this year and selling some hunts on. Plan on leasing it out next year. The guys were very pleased, deer were moving good and they saw a lot of action. They also killed hog. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2023/11/full-20641-406058-img_20231118_073333.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2023/11/full-20641-406059-img_20231120_081022.jpg)

Nice buck Stompy, so are you subletting it or just offering up some deer hunts for landowner and hunting it yourself too?

This landowner and his brother own 3 places. I run dove and hog on 2 of them and have for a few years. Those 2 are already leased for deer. The 3rd place is 640 acres and his home ranch where he lives. He wanted me to lease it out for him but I felt it was too late in the year to do that. So this year I'm selling 3 weekends of deer hunts to get him some money. I don't hunt it and will lease it out next year, if I can find the right group. I just don't have time, nor want to run weekend hunts. Just didn't have a lot of choice this year.

Places are for sale all around me. I've thought about running hunting operations out of one or two of them, but my wife agreed whole-heartedly that...I'm not the type of personality to handle that type of operation well. My hat is off to you sir. I've had friends that can handle dealing with money, and rules, and hunting, etcetera for and from all walks of life, and have done it very well. I'm just not that guy.

Creek I've been doing this so long(24 years), I have a great pool of hunters. They are loyal and respectful, and I try to be the same. I have 3 ranchers I work with and they are great too. My rule with the landowners is, I run it as if it were my place.

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

DQ, I thought about keeping a spot for myself next year, but I just don't have time to hunt it like I should. It has some nice deer. It's in Stephens county, very close to the Shackleford county line.

I hear you Stompy, I find it hard enough to hunt my small SW Young county place and my small lease in Throckmorton county.
