I can see the deer activity from my ranch house and I noticed Thursday evening, all the deer moved from the heavy cover to the open areas. I watched them all evening and tonight and the bucks are running all around like they have lost their minds. This is in Bosque County.

Three of us hunted from 11:00 AM till end of shooting time Thursday and only saw 1 small buck. Last week the bucks were running around like mad men. They seem to be in lock down phase right now in North East Texas.

By the way...full moon is always great.. The moon will set around 8-9 am. The moon will rise around 06:00 pm. You may see bucks you've only seen by cameras at night.

I hunted last week pretty much exclusively by the solunar tables and didn't see a single deer or pig. Kinda strange.

Ditto down here near Weatherford. The deer seemed to be going nocturnal this last week. I adjusted my feeder timer; it seemed to be feeding only Eurasian Doves. Check it this morning; corn gone, and tracks everywhere. Guess they must be exhausted from the rut.

Well it seems to be across the board that deer haven't been moving much lately..Patience and persistent is what is left. Nothing is eating the feed? There is nothing worse than not seeing anything at all....that's why they call it hunting I guess...the part I don't like.lol I hope when your luck changes it gives a lot of good luck...
Good luck to you hunters..hope the tide changes in your direction.

I have seen a couple of mature bucks on the move earlier in the week. Just not the shooters I am looking for. Not many does, I think they are doing the wild thing at night. I do try to hunt the lunar cycles but for deer, I hunt weather more than the moon. Cold snaps and low winds. Moon phases seem to be a better barometer for fishing then hunting IMO.

Right, unpredictability of hunting not killing, lol...

Saw 6 does, and a nice buck this morning. Barely had time to get the binos on the buck. He was only in the open for a minute. As for hunting by the moon, I've had my best days on a full moon, and I've had my worst on a full moon. I've seen deer when the moon said I should, and I've seen deer when the moon said I shouldn't. At one point, I believed in it. Now, I just hunt when I can.

Are you hunting a specific buck or anything that makes your heart jump out of your chest?

I just spent four days at my lease near Wellington and it was the slowest I have ever seen it. They are not interested in the corn and I am not seeing them in the wheat before it gets dark. There is a cold spell supposed to happen next week and I am hoping that kicks the rut off. On the bright side, the few bucks I have seen have better mass than the last couple of years.
