During deer season I don’t pop a cap at anything but deer. I have the rest of the year to hunt hogs.

I also don’t shoot coyotes. They are the pigs only predator and I have a lot more hogs than deer. I once saw a coyote take a small pig under a feeder.

Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.

Boy, if I say "sic em", you'd better look for something to bite. Sam Shelley, Rancher Muleshoe Texas 1892-1985 RIP

I tried killing all the hogs here and getting rid of or burying the bodies, so I wouldn’t attract every coyote in the area, became an overwhelming challenge. My feeding pen wasn’t expensive and has more than paid for itself from the feed not getting vacuumed up by the pigs. I’m watching 11 deer in it right now and about 15 pigs are outside of it not getting a thing.
