Fun exercise, I would say the velvet made it even more deceptive with the appearance of much more mass. Tine length was obviously camera deceptive too.

I think I threw them away, the hunter took the head of course. But I checked it twice, and trust me, I know how to measure. I learned decades ago from a good friend that was an official B&C scorer, plus just filling out B&C sheets.

I'll look tomorrow to see if I still have the measurements.

Knowing the spread would be good, may help us all with the constant "is he legal" in an AR county question. In the hard horned pic he looks right at his ears to me and I would guess him legal right at 13" wide...

Well, to be honest, he was 12 7/8, but I'm MLD.

I figured you were MLD or non AR county. 1/8" under legal, I would have a hard time passing him bow hunting public in an AR county...

Not doubting the score, just would like to know all the real measurements.

Not surprised he was that low. Most folks aren’t used to scoring deer that score that low. It can throw you off. Velvet threw me off for sure.

late to the game and already saw the score ... I was not surprised as I was initially thinking 105-110 from the earlier pictures.
