Any word on what is going on in Foard or Hardeman County? I will be heading over to my place on Saturday to spend the week there. Weather looks like it may cooperate of the deer will.

I've hunted Hardeman for ten years and it always seems to kick off right before Thanksgiving through the first week of December.

My experience is similar. I bought my SW Hardeman place 9 years ago. Almost always see early rut the week before thanksgiving, with peak rut between thanksgiving and early December.

Last weekend, I saw solid chasing activity from a few young bucks, but fawns were still with moms. This weekend, I’ve seen some moms/fawns separated, which means some of them are starting to go into heat, but most have still been together. My buddy got an 8-pointer heading to his bedding area after sunup today, but no does in sight. But the big guys are still hiding in the trees and running right past the feeders and lures—had a monster sneaking through the trees this morning, then hauled butt across the road into the next grove while jumping ringer across my drag. Should be game time the weekend after thanksgiving, as usual.
