I shot pigs under a feeder and within 10-15 minutes have deer eating around the dead body. I had an old LO who was a rancher tell us hunters that if we saw a hog and a 12 point, shoot the hog, the 12 point will come back. I have followed that rule about 90% of the time since. Last Friday, I had 3 deer at one feeder and about 6 where I had corned with my Kubota RTV when a medium size sow showed up at the other feeder. The deer were cautiously watching the hog while eating, BOOM on the pig, the deer looked at the other feeder and went right back to eating. 10-15 minutes later they worked their way down and ate around the dead hog and not near as cautious

I had deer about 20 yards from my blind last year when a nice size sow showed up at my feeder right at last light. I stuck the gun out and let her have it. None of the deer ran at all until I started climbing out of the blind to look at the pig a few minutes later.

Don’t use the garbage disposal for a week, and use a slop bucket. Dump that out there for em. They’ll be back.
