Lol, of course I don't speak Spanish....... the wife can get by though.

Talk to me about Barcelona and anything on the outskirts. That's where we will spend the majority of our time. I enjoy architecture, so any must see places?

Just curious. I speak Spanish and Portuguese. It helps in the smaller towns. But they speak Catalan in the Barcelona Catalonia region.

Couple of things for Barcelona:

- La Sagrada Familia
- Casa Batlló
- Las Ramblas
- La Boqueria Market (find the little restaurant that has razor clams and have some)
- Make dinner reservations now, https://www.canmajo.es/ca/
- Barcelona Maritime Museum

TurkeyHunter is spot on here. In Barcelona I suggest trying to get reservations at El Asador de Aranda and indulge in some roasted suckling pig.
Drinking a good Spanish wine and eating tapas with a view of the Mediterranean does not suck. Enjoy the trip up

Perfect, thanks for the info appreciate the info . Food and wine will make my wife happy.

If you like fish, and have not ever had that, get it.

Be sure to try these:

Grilled Galician Razor Clams

Perfect, I checked for reservations and they start four months out. We won't be there till October of next year. The wife loves clams, well definitely that and make that spot.

That looks good!

I'm no help. Only been in the airport in Madrid and wasn't a fan of it.

Multiple times.

Barcelona is a vibrant amazing city. We have never felt unsafe and it’s a clean city.

Spain in general is clean, modern, and fun. My personal favorite city is Madrid.

Suckling pig as mentioned by dk is a must have!

If in Madrid go here for it. Oldest restaurant in the world.

Makes me hungry thinking about it. Be sure to make a reservation.

TurkeyHunter and I sure have traveled similar circles. You definitely don’t eat there without a reservation weeks in advance. And if I remember correctly you have to preorder your meal. Was the only mutton I’ve ever really liked. They have a tour you can book as well that’s pretty interesting.

Heading out next week, we have food covered. My wife made sure of that. Barcelona we are doing one of the tours things including the Basílica de la Sagrada Família, plus restaurants and wine. So we have Barcelona covered.

Looking for suggestions of things to do or see in Valencia.

Never been to that Spanish city but if I had one day I'd go see the Mercat Central and the Cathedral. Plus the main plazas in these cities are always fun to visit.

Barcelona is very crowded. After two days, I was ready to go elsewhere.

Malaga is a great family beach city. It's cool seeing the yachts as you stroll along the waterfront.

If you're going to visit southern Spain, you'd be doing a disservice to yourselves by not visiting Seville. It's my favorite Spanish city.

Spain is a wonderful country. I spent 2 Christmas Holidays in Palma De Mallorca. I have visited Barcelona (my favorite city), Valencia, Rota & few other coastal cities. I served with the US Sixth Fleet on a Tin Can & Spain was always a great Liberty destination. I was in Barcelona when Franco died & that was the only time I remember Spain being "tense". Admittedly, it has been 48 years since I have been there. Have fun & enjoy !

Barcelona is beautiful, with all of the different styles of architecture. The only thing i hate is that the streets look like sideways, and the sidewalks look like streets, you really have to keep your bead on a swivel.

I can't help. The only time I have been to Spain was when we were rerouted to the Madrid airport on the way to Tuscany.

Careful at the Barcelona plaza. When they fly they can drop some stinky/messy bombs.

Crazy vacation, but we made it back. Barcelona was awesome, we really liked that place. The weather changed things up on us, so nothing went as planned. Still had a good time, spent some time in the Canary Islands. If I'm being honest the Basílica de la Sagrada Família is ugly on the outside.....the inside is pretty nice though. [Linked Image]
