This team has the horsepower to be relevant for the next 3-5 years with Seager and Semien under contract control. They need to get stuff going with Lowe, Garcia and Heim contract wise as I believe those 3 become player contract controlling in 2025 after 4 full seasons of MLB. They keep those 3 and re-up Eovaldi, Heaney, Montgomery and Sborz, skies the limit. Believe they locked in LeClerc before 2022 to either 3 or 5 years. I think they have Garcia for two more years but Id have to check. Eovaldi is good for next year, Heaney is on a player option for next year, Montgomery is a FA as of Monday and will demand a huge contract that the Yankees will overpay for. Scherzer will be back but it looks like at his age staying on the field may be an issue. I read that they are now a possible front runner for Ohtani, which I don't think is a good idea, he won't be able to pitch for another year and thats a contract that will limit your ability to sign other players, but he would put rears in the seats. deGrom should be back around August, Id start him in the bullpen but that won't happen. They have some young pitchers in the farm systen that have real potential as does this kid from Florida, who may push Taveras to be trade bait. Overall they have a great core and should be competitive for a few years.

Can’t forget about Jack Leiter from Vanderbilt. I believe he is still in our system and should be a great pitcher for us as well moving forward.

Would have been nice if Mark Holtz could've been around to see this run.

Would have been nice if Mark Holtz could've been around to see this run. 100% spot on.. For the guys that are still around, it had to be a special moment.. For Eric Nadel, Chuck Morgan (wish the team could’ve won at home, but I get it..), for John Blake.. those guys have seen more bad baseball around here than most of the rest of us. For them, I couldn’t be happier- And God Bless Mark Holtz, he has to be smiling from heaven today..
I really hate to do what I am about to do, because it will be very painful for you.

Pass the gravy.
