This guy usually shows up about once a quarter. Yesterday was his second visit of October and he stayed all day. Hopefully we meet up in person soon (when I'm armed and not in the dark). ![[Linked Image]](https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53302699349_3332ee3ffc_z.jpg)

Trying. He was back this morning between 2:30 and 4:30. Hopefully he stays for the weekend. We're about to build two new fences-if he isn't careful he'll get shut in and that will make killing him a lot easier. He runs the creek that goes through my place and accesses the pastures via water gaps that leave enough room for him. That all changes in December.

Yep, that's a big fella that could wreck a feeder! He’s already knocked the legs off.

So he was there every night from 2:30-4:30. Sunday morning I get up at 2 am, to look at pictures that show he was there from 11:30-1:30.

In my experience....it is not unusual (indeed expected) for a hog/hogs to start showing up earlier once they've started visiting a spot regularly. Good luck getting him. Bruiser for sure.

It was fairly frustrating. He usually shows up about once every 90 days, and only for about a day. This was his second visit in the last 30 days, and he stuck for a week. I think the second night he was there he stayed about 12 hours, but then settled into the 2:30-4:30 window for 5-6 days. Had he kept that one more day I'd have had a shot. I purposely avoided that pasture on Saturday as to not change anything in his routine. As somebody pointed out, that's why they call it hunting. Sunday afternoon we unavoidably made a ton of noise in that pasture with a skid steer and a post driver. He hasn't been seen since.

Sunday afternoon we unavoidably made a ton of noise in that pasture with a skid steer and a post driver. He hasn't been seen since. The commotion 'might' have had something to do with it (or not). Some hogs are tolerant of intrusion, others not. But in any case, Lone Boars are 'transient' and whether they feel pressured or not....are not going to stay in one area for very long. If you are sighting a particular Boar repeatedly he is only in that area for one of two reasons: 1. You have a Sow (or Sows) that about to come into Estrous and he is there to breed them. 2. Something about the area offers protection, food source, water, bedding. But rest assured....they will be branching out in search of Sows to breed, even if they come back through later. If I haven't been able to set up on a boar within 4 days....then I fully expect them to be gone soon after. That doesn't mean they won't return or occasionally travel through, but 30+ years of hunting them has taught me to get on a boar just as soon as circumstance allows. Groups/Sounders of hogs are a different story. They do travel quite a bit too (in good habitat) but they tend to stay where conditions are good and can be around for months at a time (un-pressured). Anyway, best of luck. Don't give up hope. You'll get him eventually.
