I have only hunted once for Turkey in the spring a few years ago and didn't see or hear anything. I am on a new lease this year and last week a group of about 10-12 hens came to my feeder. I was curious if I should try and call for a Tom with decoys similar to the spring or is fall hunting something different? I also read the regulations about not hunting near a feeder, so I will follow all the regulations. I was just trying to get some tips on fall turkey hunting.
Thanks

Toms will eventually show at your feeder.

Consider not shooting a hen in order that she may have more young turkey in the spring. Suppose it depends on the current turkey population. Calling up a gobbler is a lot of fun though.

Wait til spring unless you’re dying for an old turkey thanksgiving. If so, they will just show up at your feeder and eat all the corn before anything else can.
Use the fall and winter to scout roosting and loafing areas. The turkeys will disperse in the spring so numbers will be lower but they will still use those same areas

I am in no hurry to shoot one and won't target them until the spring, unless a tom walks by when I have my bow in hand. The 8-10 hens come each morning to the feeder and clean up any corn that wasn't touched. I would imagine a tom would do the same, but so far in person and on camera only hens are showing. I am hopeful a tom or 2 starts making his way over sometime in the near future... Like I said if not, I can wait until the spring and let my son try and shoot one.
