We aren’t aggressive tonight and it’s so frustrating. When it’s 31 you know he’s gonna be coming to you with his best pitch. SWING THE FRIGGIN BAT!!!

Looks like the ump is playing no favorites.

every ump assigned to the world series is horrible. they are all ranked in the bottom 1/3 of umps on accuracy. I will say the inaccuracy is going both ways.
but tonight small ball basics is winning.

Arizona’s pitching has been great tonight. They’ve got a few more calls than we have, but that’s part of it. Overall they have done a fantastic job pitching. And their offense gets the ducks off the pond… lots of 2 out damage to the Rangers.

A very one sided game, for many reasons.

I picked Texas in 6. I change my mind. Pitching wins and we don't have any. They put so much pressure on the base pads. They basically beat our two best pitchers. We got lucky in game 1. I think Arizona wins in 6, maybe even 5.

Rangers have fine pitching and it's how they made it this far overall. It's only the FIRST lop-sided loss for them in the post season. The plate umpire was not very good at all but he was so for both teams. The difference was the Diamondback hitters swung at balls that were going to be called strikes. The Rangers did not. Arizona adapted. Texas did not.

I hope everyone knows the box on the TV DOES NOT define the strike zone. The umpire does. The plate is the width and the height is suggested in the rule book. Officials see and call them their way. People do not understand rules of the runner's baseline either so it's no big deal.

Pass the gravy.

I had a dream last night that Texas loses 2 games in Arizona, comes home and loses game 6 at home. Hopefully my dream is wrong, usually they are.

Not the FIRST lopsided loss in post season. Astros won 10-3 in game 4 of ALCS.

Caught me. I actually wrote "second" until I looked at the scores and missed that one. So my correction to my own post was incorrect. Still, hard to say the Rangers pitching is at fault with a 10-4 post season record ... two close losses and two blow outs and TEN wins.

Pass the gravy.

When the Rangers don’t hit they don’t hit. They go to the plate trying to be a hero instead of the next man up

Probably has a lot to do with the opposing pitcher wouldn't you think?

In some nebulous way, yes. But in a real and practical way ... no. Astros had "better pitching" and a "better bullpen" too and they are sitting at home. When the Rangers hit, they win and their pitching is good enough to beat another midget (X2) team with a REALLY old guy.

Pass the gravy.

If the opposing teams pitcher is on his game as a hitter you can expect probably one pitch per at bat that you can really handle. You better not miss it, foul it, etc, therefore hitting suffers tremendously. Just the way the game works. Whoever has the best pitching that particular day/series wins.

This is good info from someone with the experience to know.

Merrill Kelly pitched 7 great innings and for the most part had the Rangers completely off balance at the plate. IMO the lack of offense by the Rangers was just as much about Kelly having great stuff and hitting his spots than the Rangers just not showing up..

Tonights winner may determine the Champion, just read where the winner of Game 3, when the the series is tied 1-1, in a 7 game world series wins it all 68% of the time. Thats a huge percentage. One thing is for sure, if Semien and the bottom half don't get going they don't stand a chance.
