We're going to get cold enough up here to at least freeze the surface of our skinny water on Sat- Monday. Should send the nice variety of puddle ducks we have around right now down your way. The front coming in should also bring more birds down from Canada so those will follow on down too I would bet. Going to get cold down into Colorado and maybe the Panhandle from what I've seen.

I drive for a living. West tx particularly midland has gotten more rain than I think all of texas, and not with just the recent storms. Any blip of water from dfw to midland should be full now. I was astounded to see places I see along the way that have ducks, completely filled w more water than they would normally have. Yes guy is right feed that vegetation. The lakes all went down and the banks grew all kinds of plants. We get enough rain to put that stuff under again even just a little bit so, and it ll make for a good season hopefully.

I have got 5.5” rain this week, over 3 days. My stock tank was just mud puddle, now only about a foot low, so it has really been blessing. Fall grain really perked up and looking good.

Just South of you here in Parker County; we got 5”. Same on the tank and then some. Near empty; now at full capacity. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2023/10/full-74091-403874-234f0dac_d1aa_4c94_8cfa_6f28f91f301e.jpeg)

Well the lakes I hunt didn't come up all that much.
Would like to see one of them come up 3-4', it's been years since the levels have been there.

The lakes I hunt came up about a foot and a half, which is way more than the fall improvement in previous years but nowhere near enough since we were down another 4 feet from last year. Still, there are positives if you know how to find them....
No matter how high a duck flies a hammer still breaks a window.
