It's heating up a little. The last two days I have mutiple pics (different times of day) at each feeder of does/bucks sprinting in/out of view. Opening weekend should be fun! Mills county.

Yeah, I’m in northern Tarrant county and had 2 little bucks chasing does 2 days ago. Then, yesterday a big 9 point showed up. Haven’t seen him since last year.

Rut is full blast In norther Coke county. Yesterday morning arrowed a nice 11 point hot on the tail of a doe in the pouring rain. That afternoon had an 8 point run every doe in sight for almost 3 hours. I am not talking about just checking them either. Our rut always peaks third week of October though. That’s the only reason I was hunting in a flash flood yesterday morning.

Any others concur with that?

Our cams just showed two new mature bucks just showed up. Not big but new. Bucks definitely changing patterns as expected. Theyve been out in the woods working out those neck muscles-they are ready to go.

its heating up quickly in Freestone County-----all of my regular bucks who ate protein all summer have left the reservation and I have new bucks showing up daily (some of which are pretty good ones too) They are moving around a lot too and seeing more and more bucks with freshly busted antlers

Any others concur with that? Most people don’t believe it either. When I started hunting this area in 2004 everyone said the rut was Thanksgiving. After spending time in the woods bow hunting that year it didn’t take long to find out how wrong they were. One hunter even went so far as sending pics of twins that were inside of a doe he killed in December to Dr. Kroll to get his opinion on when the Doe was bred. He said 10/20-10/23. By trying to prove me wrong all he did was prove me right.
