Just thought I would share some pictures from this falls hunting so far. First, I went with a buddy up near Clayton NM and helped him get his pronghorn. He got a little trigger happy and shot the first buck we saw "and we had scouted much bigger" but tagged out on a younger good eating buck. Next I went with another buddy to Kansas and hunted with Lazy J Hunting Service in Sublette. Had a great time, good food, tons of birds. I highly recommend this outfitter if you are looking for a pheasant hunt. Last but not least, I put my tag on this buck west of Roswell NM just yesterday. My son ranged him at 201 yards and with open sights because NM Game and Fish banned optics on muzzleloaders, this was one the best shots I have ever made. Used my old Knight Bighorn 50 cal., with the 250 grain Hornady SST. I think because of the drought the numbers are down only saw 10 deer in 3 days and only 2 bucks. We saw 8 doe's but none with fawns. I thank God I am still able to enjoy these hunts. Life is good and I still have all of quail season coming up.

At some point in life its time to quit chasing the pot of gold and just enjoy the rainbow. FR

Love those pheasant, especially. I miss pheasant hunting. But all the farmers where I used to hunt are growing cotton. Sigh .. .
