This are backordered everywhere with an arrive date of 11/1/23. Anyone placed an order? Need to see if the unit needs to be within 15" of muzzle.

I'll eventually try one, not because I'm unhappy with my Labradar but because it's more compact and smaller, I carry and take too much crap to the range as it is...but of course it needs to be within 15" of the muzzle. Why are you asking that question and how is that a problem? Sit it on the bench next to the rifle just like a lab radar.

EDIT - 11/1 is the release date, these are all pre-order back orders. If you want one, buy one. I'll hold out until I can get a discount on one...I'm jewish like that at times grin wink

Nice that they offer an arca rail mount for it, very quick and easy and could probably make one at home if you’re a bit handy

I can't find a lot of info on this thing. I wonder if it will it show multiple velocity readings at preset ranges like the Labradar does.

The one I used only gave one velocity. I just set it on bench next to rifle pointed in the general direction and started shooting. As I said in earlier post it is most definitely a LabRadar killer from what I saw that day.
Mine should be here shortly but I have about decided to keep my antique LabRadar to go with my homemade 1980 model chronograph…. Maybe my grandkids can sell them to Cracker Barrel. cheers

10/19 (today) is the release date, not 11/1, and these are not all backorders. I got to play with them the last couple of weeks and I'm pretty impressed. A lot of the functionality in a package that's easier to use than the Labradar. I don't say to bash them, I owned 2 of them for about 2 years total, they were just...finicky. Either wouldn't trigger consistently, or were getting triggered by the guy 15 feet to my right, or were giving m a 1500 FPS reading on a round going close to 2800...all sorts of odd issues. The company was good at helping me trouble shoot and ended up replacing a unit for me at one point, but it just got to be more of a headache than it was worth. Between my comfort with Gamrin Golf and Fishing products and some use of the Garmin Trapshooting Trainer, this is an easy-to-use interface for me with all the data I really need.

Careful buying from Scheels. Make sure you buy the Garmin Xero C1 Chrono, NOT the Garmin R 10 Launch Monitor

I was there yesterday, they had 1 left. I wasn't aware of the GOLFING model till now.

Thanks RN913, I hadn't seen any in stock so assumed it was a soft launch of sort.

It is funny how many LabRadars are on the market in the last 24 hours rofl

I wouldn't dump my Labradar for one. I like being able to see how velocity decays at the intervals you set yourself. I just wish it was good for ranges longer than 100 yards.

I might change my tune after this new Garmin unit has been out there for a while, but for now---NOPE.

Had the Labradar out today. Hadn't used it in five months or so and couldn't remember how to get through some of the review functions. Anyway, I set it up for checking some 9mm loads this afternoon and when I was playing with it I saw that I can get readings beyond 100 yards so now I'm scratching my head. I'll have to completely refamiliarize myself with the danged thing.

Labradar gathers velocities at 200 yards for me on a weekly basis. This week was two different bullets out of 7 Rem Mag. About 40 rounds. Just aim it at the 200 yard berm.

The LabRadar will read out to 250 yards. I've talked to many shooters who have issues with the LabRadar. Several of them were 100% user error, which I still think are most cases. Most of the time the settings were off for how they were shooting. And many issues with the wrong external battery packs. I have serial # 72, and mine has worked perfect for many years. I have even sent it back for service once for a loose mounting screw on the bottom. He even fixed 2 of the buttons that were hard to push. I have nothing but high praises for my LabRadar, and it is a game changer tool for me for what I do.

LR has always been great IMO, the only time mine missed shots was last week when I didn't realize I had bumped it 40 degrees to the right.

I do like the new Garmin unit, and use several Garmin products from Hand Held GPS to a full on G1000 and G3000 avionics package in airplanes. Reliability of Garmin has always been good, but so has my LabRadar. The physical size of the Garmin would be the advantage to me at this point.
