I work from home so that is how I can limit it to a few times a year. I usually only have it when on long road trips.

I drive 50-60k miles/year and don’t have an office. Office is my truck or hotel rooms. It’s not that hard to avoid it. It’s not cheap nor is it fast anymore. Several sit down places I can get a quicker, cleaner, fresher, less expensive meal

Gotcha, I see what you mean. You still eat out just utilize better options. And I’m with you on the mileage I’m pretty much identical. Lots of windshield time!

I only eat at Whataburger about 3-4 times per year. It's almost always while I'm on a road trip and it's usually the one off of 40 & Grand in Amarillo or the one in Decatur. We always use the app to order ahead to avoid the wait, but it's almost never ready when we get there. And the one in Decatur is dirty. I still like it for the few times a year that I eat there when I am in a rush, but they could learn a thing or two from Chick fil A or In N Out regarding service and cleanliness.

The one in Whitesboro isn’t bad. The one in Decatur needs a little help.

Saturday early stopped at the new one in Bridgeport around 7:15 am there were only two cars in the drive through and inside a couple sitting down and one guy standing up.
Decided to go in so I could stretch my legs, ordered a sausage, egg, cheese biscuit to go.

After about 5 minutes started a little small talk with the guy in front of me and he had already been there awhile waiting, about 10 minutes later he finally gets his food he was pissed.
Quite a few cars are going through the drive through line, about 5 minutes later a couple of guys walk in and I told them to get real comfortable after they ordered.

It took them literally 25 + minutes to make 1 biscuit sandwich with basically nobody inside, plenty of cars were getting their food via the drive through.
Never ever going to there again!

Then to add insult to injury, went to Herds for a burger around 1:15 that same day, gal said it will be 25 minutes, 40 minutes later I finally got my burger.
Herds is good, not that good!

I am seriously thinking about packing all of my meals from here on out.

The drive thru wait times are probably the longest of any chain! They’re specialty burgers like the Patty Melt and the Monte…..? we’re excellent but ended up being priced off the market…no way I’m paying close to $10 for a burger and rings.
Last…their ridiculous marketing ploy of calling their onion ring orders ‘medium’ and ‘large’ is asinine.

They are honestly hit or miss Still my go to in a pinch.

Keep in mind, no one these days have pride in their work.

Whataburger is:

Better than the pushing agenda of Mc Donald’s

Better than Liberal In n out crap with soggy butt fries and no mayo at all.

Better than ghetto dirty nasty Jack in the box.

Wendy’s burgers are ok but some restaurants are just disgusting.

Mayo on a burger is ghey…save that for ham sammiches, cole slaw and oiling your kids bicycle chain.

Ham, nope.

Haven't ordered a burger in many, many years but we usually do stop at Chicken Express in Cisco when leaving the lease. 8-9 years and have never had a really bad experience there. The one in SGP sucks though.

Whataburger used to be my favorite but I am kind of off of them for all of the reasons listed above. Dairy Queen has taken over as my favorite. Burgers are much better and the service is much friendlier.. They are not as fast as a McDonalds or a Wendys but food is far superior at least at the locations I frequent.

I like to frequent small town DQs.

Anyone who says “just ok” opinion is meaningless to me.

Eat at 3 of them regularly. No complaints. Only thing they routinely get wrong is no onions and no mustard on my boys, not a big deal. It’s not the best I. The world… but really what is? While plenty edible etc not a lot of economically priced food out is anything to write home about, scratch, made fresh, or healthy.

Chocolate dipped soft serve, the best!
