Hall county. And we have mule deer also. His coat is way more grey than all the other whitetail we have and his body and neck are bigger.

Agree 100%

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Hard to tell in the summer months, but I bet he’s older than you think he is. If you like him, take him.

Agree. If you can, give him 2 more years!

I would let him breed as long as he can. Then you can have more of his offspring around. But that's just me.

He is ready. He will be 6.5 + this year, pretty deer look forward to seeing how he finishes up.

I passed on two like that in 2023, OP, but they looked to be a year older than your guy. We had a ton of rain this spring. One is going to be exactly like last year, one added 20+". You never know, but you certainly made the right call last year.

We're neighbors. Let me know how much you think he'll put on in length between now and when he's hard horned 10-1.

Like to see another pic from this year. Not for aging but want to see rack better. Is he an 8 this year? I guess its a tpost behind him that looks like another big point. And it looks like another point on the left. Most just curious but also wondering if its the same buck.

100% the same deer, in 2022 he was 5 on the left and 4 on the right and 2023 he was 5 on the right and 4 on the left. It was kinda odd. This year he is a 10. I will post more pics as they come in. I haven’t got any other good pics of him yet.

That deer is mature, and if you are in a part of the state having an uncommonly good year, it is probably the time to take him. Jmo.

If that deer gets anywhere near me, he’s going down.

Unless you’re on a high fence there’s no point in trying to manage the herd.

If you have neighbors or poachers that cruise the area, I’d smoke him the first chance I had.
