J. G. is right about no one being 100% innocent.
Columbus declared the American continent for, I believe, the Queen of Spain.
Later, lots of settlers headed West to get land of their own. Pretty easy to see how the indigenous people who lived there felt. And yet, those fought each other for the same dirt. This was somehow justified by the term Manifest Destiny. Another way of looking at is What land does a nomad own? My grandparents and other family members migrated from Tennessee to Oklahoma and claimed land. I have a photo of my Great Aunt driving a covered wagon pulled by a team of mules. They settled in Oklahoma and later went to Texas and bought farms around Muleshoe and Farwell.
Spanish sailor/soldiers landed in Central America and disembarked to start their own colonies. The Incas didn’t much like that idea.
Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.
Boy, if I say "sic em", you'd better look for something to bite. Sam Shelley, Rancher Muleshoe Texas 1892-1985 RIP

I’ve always wondered what effect disease had. The 7-10 years before the buffalo population crashes lines up with large cow herds first being pushed north from south Texas onto the buffalo plains. I’d imagine brucellosis could wreck havoc pretty quickly
