Good stuff. If you want to transition him to a deer rifle, I started mine on an AR 22 in a BOG POD. Once they were comfortable with that I moved them to a suppressed AR in the same BOG POD. Gun looked and felt the same to them. My son killed his first deer at 6 and my daughter at 7. I posted pics on here, but can't find them. They do grow fast. Enjoy it!

That's awesome Kyle. I tried to get both mine into it but it's just not their thing. They'll shoot on occasion but not much. My boy does like to kill pigs tho, that's fun.

Colt will pass you on the standings for that 22 league you have in what, a month? Should we get a pot going?

Definitely a good idea. He has a 10/22 already open sights and wood stock and the ruger wrangler. He should be good for a while. He has already laid claim to my comp gun though.

A week later, he shot a forked horn(4 point) buck. That really got him going. He first called Grandma and told her to come see his buck. Next call to parents.

I got him to hand load his own ammo and he really liked that. Told everybody at school and I got a call from the Principal asking if it was safe. We talked about it and he told me that he was also a hand loader and had put off teaching hid son. We talked about it and parted.

He hunted for quite a few years. Now, at 23 yoa, he is married and hooked on video games and will probably hunt a couple of times per year. Damn shame.

Don't give up on him, Dave, all is not lost. He's just 23. That desire to hunt may be dormant at the moment, but it can wake up and kick in again.

If I do end up wining one, which I probably won't because it is a random draw and my luck is terrible, but if I do I'll give it to one of the kids in attendance. I have an extra EP5 sitting on the bench now that I took off the Summit I had.

See Judd optics already covered for my new one rofl
