It probably matters a lot where a fellow hunts. If on unfamiliar ground, the RF might be needed a lot. And if making really long shots, a RF is necessary. But me…I just range to landmarks and then put the RF back in my bag.

It’s easy to replace a RF, and new ones are always coming available, but my binoculars are great.

Yep. It's easy for them to give the warranty replacements when all but the top line of their product is made overseas for a small percent of the retail sale price. Judging from what I see people using, the vast majority buy the lower models, so If they do have to replace a Razor, it probably has that covered too. Personally, when I see a Razor priced with a Nightforce or Kahles, Im going with what has done me right.

they werent really out when you got yours but yes good glass.

Lecia just revamped the geo-R’s this year, but they are bigger then your pro’s.

GPO’s just released last year’ish on theirs. I personally just got to play with them a few months ago.

I can only compare the ones I have but my Kahles 624 Gen2/7-35 ATACR don’t have quite the quality glass as my Gen 3 Vortex and it’s easy to find them(Vortex) at 1000.00 less than
the NF for sure not sure what Kahles are going for these days.

I hunted for years with no rangefinder but when I discovered them in a binocular I don’t want to live without them. I don’t rifle hunt much anymore and lean towards a small handheld for bowhunting but they are nice to have.

I’m not good at judging distance and constantly overestimate yardage. They are a helpful tool.

I played with the vortex this evening. I don’t hate them, I’m just upset at the opportunity missed at the moose. Should I have hit the moose 3 times instead of 2 with the rangefinder? Did I rush when I ranged him? Lots of things I’m looking back at.

I’ll chalk it up to “one of those things” and let it go for now. I’ll finish up the season with the Fury’s and then make a decision on which glass to go with from there.

Was the moose story in the Canadian thread? It appeared too long a story and I was busy about then so I never read it. If a RF cost you an animal then Ill go back and read.

We called in a big bull. A few days prior to had lost my hand held rangefinder but I still had my fury’s. I ranged him twice and it showed 30 yards, I drew back and set my 30 yard pin. Ended up shooting under him; he was actually around 55 yards.

Only thing I can think of was the rangefinder picked up a small spruce tree that was in the foreground instead of the moose

SIG RFB, no connection to blue tube. They are Great but probably a little heavy for mountain climbing. I guess this the negative. They are very clear and range accurately.
