I bet there's a lot of folks who live and hunt in East Texas who can't afford a computer that would join us AR opposers.

P.S. ARs S-U-C-K! soap

It's politically correct and cool in nice truck circles to agree with AR's........

I would like to put a nice tender little 4 point in the freezer from time to time as the need arises.

AR's

I hunt in East Texas - Deer are always really tall but not so wide, however you will see a 16"-18" deer once in a while. It's hard for the kids..no, no son thats a mature 4-5 year old 8 point with a 10" spread. He will never be any more than what he is today but you cant shoot him, we will just keep pumping the feed to him so he can keep producing cull deer that you cant take.

This rule may be great in South Texas, I've hunted there also, but I've always have practiced 8 point or better and mature deer.

Comments - anyone else having the same issue?

I would very interested to know what the people think of antler restrictions after hunting under them for two years or more. My partner was very turned off to the idea when AR's were first implemented two seasons ago in Houston County. It only took a couple of seasons before he switched his opinion 180 degrees. Last season he took his biggest buck ever, and passed up numerous bucks that would have NEVER gotten a pass in earlier years.

dan, ive been hunting under ARs since they began, when they first started in my county, i thought... ohh poop, they will ruin the deer herd. well about 3 or 4 yrs later. i changed completely. i can tell how much they helped my herds (this is on about 4 or 5 dif places, scattered through 4 dif counties) so dont give me that... well you just got lucky response. bcause i have noticed improvement on everysingle one of those places.

I have stated this analogy before. For all those that like AR's and the goverment telling you what you can and can't do. Don't cry when the goverment tells you to turn in all your AR (I mean the rifle type) and high capacity mags. Yes I don't want to hear its not the same, it will protect all the inferior and culls of the human population and better humanity. Thats the argument/excuse thier going to make.

Did I mention AR's Suck!

So bag limits, seasons, daylight hunting hours and weapon type restrictions are also an infringement by that logic...

Did not say that. Heres the deal. Sell me a license, set the rules, give me a bag limit, and let me do my thing. Do not tell me what is good enough to shoot or basicly what a trophy is. Everything I have ever pulled a trigger on was/is a trophy. I always enjoy what I shoot and whoever else I know what they harvest. We are (my friends, family, etc..) thankful to god for this opportunity.

By the way I have hunted (leased or invited) AR counties for the past 5 years and not seen one legal buck yet. Yes AR's Suck

I'm at a loss here to respond because I've hunted places with excellent potential (and good deer) yet experienced hunters still brought in young bucks when shooting one of the numerous does would have been wiser in the long run.A macho thing? Maybe,I don't know but on those leases I would have welcomed AR.But at the same time my first deer was a spike and I couldn't have been more proud. But if your stuck with it (and everyone follows the rule)maybe in the future the buck of a lifetime will show itself. Just my thoughts. Kix

Thats exactly what they have done... sold you the license and told you the rules... you just don't like THIS rule... you don't have a problem with all the OTHER ones which aren't any different...
