I'm 78. Been there, done that, and am still doing it.

I grew up with lots of sun exposure fishing the Louisiana marsh shirtless in gym shorts and flip flops.

Starting in my mid-50's I started going to a dermatologist every year. In each visit he freezes a half dozen pre-cancerous spots on my bald scalp using what I call "the spray can of pain".

Two years ago he biopsied a spot he suspected was cancerous. It turned out to be a small basil cell carcinoma. Had it surgically removed with follow up radiation treatment that eliminated the cancer. I now go for the can of pain session every six months.

I hate having them cut out.
