These three will make a trip to the lease for sure. Will be just 6 months when season opens so lots to learn.

Great looking hounds! Not to side track... but I see a lot of tails not docked. Is that not problematic for the pooches?

Why cut off a perfectly good poker tail?

My two. 5 years difference in age but sharing a lot of the same genes is plain to see. The similar style on point is uncanny other than the young one points with his tail flat with his back and the older dog points with a high tail.

I am seeing a lot of pictures of dogs with dew claws
Why don’t you remove them they or worthless and contribute to many uncalled for injuries to hunting dogs especially if you need to boot them. Best advice remove dew claws when pups are one day oldies

Lying is lying. Don't bitch about one doing it and condone another. That's called hypocrisy.

They are not worthless at all.

I think Tigger is trolling, cause I don’t see any dew claws? My dogs don’t have them. I will say I have watched a dog that went through the ice while pheasant hunting a frozen cat tail slough use them to belly crawl back up onto the ice.

Lot's of articles by noted Vets that they serve a purpose and should be left on. Pain in the butt when booting but I leave them on.

I always cut them off years ago but now after reading a lot, I think I would be inclined to leave them on too. Why are they born with them if not needed?

My dogs have the dew claws removed, but I really don’t care either way.

Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden.
Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

I prefer them removed, just another accident waiting to happen.

None of the pictures on this thread show dew claws. Just ignore the comment. Let him start a new thread if he wants to debate it. Lets keep this thread for pictures of our dogs.

It’s kinda what you get if you don’t specify with the breeder, and the breeder isn’t doing it. Not recommended as an adult dog (unless that injury does occur).

Here’s two of mine with OCD for upland birds and waterfowl

Thank you. I can get them to a Junior Title; Senior and Masters is beyond my abilities. It’s like my Team Roping sometimes…I’ll get in the way of success. Looking for a quality Lab breeder near Weatherford.
