Just received my electric bill for the last month (8/10-9/11) and it's the highest electric bill I've ever paid in my life. $390.46. This is after an almost $300 water bill. Sure am glad for the cooler weather and rain!

Sure am glad for the cooler weather and rain! What was the kw hours difference? 2907 ($390.46) vs 2432 ($310.32) last year. Actually, now that you made me look back...it's not that outrageous. Plus, they did notify me recently of a temporary increase in distribution price.

I'm just glad I kept my house cool throughout the heat wave. The money matters but misery matters more.

2350 kWh for $ 235.00 bill. Darned close year-to-year for the hot months. Lowest consumption is spring at 850-1,000 kWh.
But my house is only 2500 sq. ft. We are all electric with 73 deg setpoint for days, 70 for nights.

$348 this month...Water was about $140. 2000 sq ft house that we keep at 72 during the day and 68 at night, plus a pool pump. Still too freaking high. Praying rates start going down in a month or two once the heat subsides.

Mine got up to around the $600 mark and we had more insulation blown in and solar screens added. It helped alot and we are going to compare bills next year since it has gotten cool.

For those who've been shopping, what's the best $/kwh that you've seen? I believe I'm at 14.6 cts/kwh.

I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

Electric last month was 26 - but 22.50 of that was monthly co-op service charge. Water is normally around 40 but last month was 101 but found and fixed leak 2 days ago - with the drought here, it took a while for water to make it to the surface so I could find it. Keep my thermostats at 68 and sleep under a sheet and blanket at night.
I'm glad I started adding solar in 2016 - I'm up to 10.2kw of panels now. The solar water heater setup saves about 50 a month and I don't have cold water problems.
